WSIB home care in Ontario: what your claim may cover.
Hurt at work and struggling at home? WSIB may fund personal care and nursing support while you recover. Angel’s Kare assesses your needs, coordinates with your claim, and bills WSIB directly when care is approved; your out-of-pocket cost may then be little or $0.
Two ways WSIB can pay for care at home.
Personal care allowance. When a workplace injury or illness leaves a worker severely impaired, WSIB may pay for an attendant’s help with daily living: bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, meals. The allowance follows an assessment of what you can and can’t safely do alone.
Home health care. Where your treating health professional recommends care at home, such as nursing visits, wound care or post-surgical support, WSIB may fund it as part of your treatment plan.
Every claim is different, so we never promise coverage. What we do promise: we’ll read your situation honestly, coordinate with your case manager, and put care in place fast once it’s approved.

How it works with your claim.
1. The free call. Have your claim number handy. We listen to what’s hard at home and flag what WSIB may cover.
2. Assessment and paperwork. A CNO-registered nurse assesses care needs in line with your treating health professional’s recommendations, and we handle the provider paperwork with WSIB.
3. Care begins. A lead caregiver starts, supported by a trained backup who knows the plan, and we bill WSIB directly. If any part isn’t covered, you’ll know before it happens, never after.
