The benefit explained

What “attendant care” means after an MVA.

Ontario auto policies include benefits for the help injuries make necessary: bathing, dressing, transfers, meals, supervision — what the forms call attendant care. The need is documented through a Form 1 assessment, usually completed by an occupational therapist or nurse.

Angel’s Kare is HCAI-registered, which means we invoice your insurer through Ontario’s official health claims system instead of sending you the bill. How much is funded depends on your policy and how your injuries are classified, so we keep our promises modest and our paperwork tight.

We also work alongside the rest of your recovery team: physio, OT, your clinic, your lawyer if you have one. One care manager keeps everyone current on what’s happening at home.

Set up to bill Ontario auto insurers directly.

Insurer billed, not you

No fronting costs, no reimbursement chase.

24h — care can begin

From consultation to first visit, often the next day.

The process

From collision to first visit.

1. Call us, or have your clinic, adjuster or lawyer refer you. We listen to what daily life looks like since the accident.

2. The Form 1. We coordinate with the occupational therapist or nurse documenting your attendant care needs, and align the care plan with it.

3. Care begins. A lead caregiver and trained backup, notes after every shift, and billing submitted through HCAI. If anything isn’t covered, you’ll know in writing first.

Recovering while the claim is still being sorted? We’ll tell you plainly what’s worth starting privately, from $35/hour, and what should wait for approval. All funding pathways →

Auto insurance questions

What MVA clients ask us.

It can. Attendant care is a standard accident benefit in Ontario auto policies. Whether and how much applies to you depends on your injuries and your policy. A Form 1 assessment documents the need, and we confirm the rest on a free call.
HCAI is Ontario's central system for billing auto insurers for health services. Because Angel's Kare is HCAI-registered, we invoice your insurer directly — you're not fronting the money and chasing reimbursement.
No. Many clients come to us directly or through their rehab clinic. If you do have a lawyer or case manager, we work with them closely.
Usually within 24 to 48 hours of the consultation. Where approvals are still pending, we'll tell you honestly what can start now and what should wait.
